Becoming…Right-sized — I wash, You dry
November 18, 2017
The funny thing is that this is 100% true. No matter how you track what you eat in calories, points or portions your body doesn’t care. It doesn’t reset at midnight. It doesn’t give you extra points for being active. It just sees what is going in (food) must be balanced by what is being […]

Sharing from my health and fitness page
Sometimes things just happen. They just kind of all add up to the right time and place and suddenly you know. You resist it, but the urge remains. You debate it and then, you take a giant leap of courage and just jump in.
So what am I talking about? I became a Beachbody Coach. I’m still trying to get my head around it but I’ve joined one of the biggest fitness and nutrition companies and I am both scared to death and excited by the prospects of helping other people become more healthy.
I’ve always loved nutrition and fitness. I love the feel of being active and rarely say no to an invitation to exercise with someone. But the thing is my own eating and exercise habits are not always perfect. I think its human nature to fall into an eating rut and to let exercise become boring and…

Summertime Sun Tea
April 25, 2015
Oh I can’t wait to try these– such a wonderful idea for individual exploration of flavors!
What’s a girl to do when it’s a hundred degrees outside and moving to Antarctica sounds like a good idea? Make sun tea, of course! With July 4th celebrations coming up, everyone is in need of some cool refreshment. To put it simply, Summertime Sun Tea is the drink of sunshine and rainbows…colorful, nourishing, and just plain delicious!
Sun tea is a method of slow cold water brewing. This technique produces a gentler tea infusion that’s crisper and clearer than teas brewed the traditional way. Cold water brewed teas also have less caffeine and are less bitter since the process of steeping isn’t as harsh.
Today I’m using Elmwood Inn’s best-selling Kentucky Black Tea to make my Summertime Sun Tea. The Kentucky Blend is a Chinese black tea made from tea leaves that originate from Yunnan (Southwestern China) and Anhui (Eastern China). This blend is my favorite standard black tea because it’s robust without being…

The “After” Myth
April 23, 2015
Wow– the thing everyone thinks but is afraid to say–what happens now? Unless we realize our worth, regardless of size or circumstance, the journey is never over.
After.
It’s here.
In my first post, Before, 3 years ago, I said “I’m not to After yet, but I’m closer to After than to Before.”
I now weigh 117 – 120 pounds (depending on the day), and standing at 5-foot 6-inches, that measurement means that After is very, very here. But, before you congratulate me, dear readers…if I have any…and dear friends and family who I know follow this blog… I have to come clean with you: I don’t feel like I’m at After. I’m terrified of being at After. And, I don’t like that After is here.
The tagline of my blog is “uncovering myself one pound at a time.” For most of this blog, I’ve spoken strongly about how my relationship with food and myself was what caused my weight struggles. I stand by that. The thing is, the symptoms have resolved faster than I’ve been able to…

Internet safety is so important. I don’t know half of these sites but its scary thinking about young people doing this without realizing the full impact of their actions.
